I specialize in supporting individuals, couples, and families managing separation or divorce. Deciding to separate or divorce are among the most stressful life transitions individuals and families experience. Making that decision brings with it a complex mix of grief, loss, and uncertainty. During an emotional time, this is a time that also requires practical decisions to co-parenting, life changes, and possible legal proceedings.

Using evidence-based approaches, including acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), therapy helps clients remain grounded in their values while learning to manage strong emotions and make mindful decisions during a challenging time. Clients are supported in going through the process with greater stability, clarity, and resilience as they move forward. The emotional impact of losing a long-term relationship and/or family is heartbreaking, even if it is ultimately the best and healthiest decision. Therapy can provide a safe space to process the loss. When children are involved treatment can also focus on how to best support them in developmentally appropriate ways reducing conflict exposure and creating co-parenting arrangements when possible.
