Couples Therapy
I help couples build healthier, more connected relationships
Healthy, satisfying relationships contribute to emotional well-being and resilience. Even strong partnerships can become strained over time as couples face stress, life transitions, and entrenched patterns of behavior that reduce connection and can create hurt.
In couples therapy, it’s important to support the individual needs while identifying and supporting the couple on how to be relational. Using evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Relational Life Therapy (RLT), treatment focuses on increasing emotional awareness, strengthening communication skills and techniques. Both individuals will be encouraged to be aware and take accountability for the part that they play in creating the dynamic which is not working.
The therapeutic process supports couples to understand what contributed to creating the unhealthy dynamics. Once there is awareness, with accountability, acceptance, and mutual support, each person will be able to identify what is needed and most important to create a relationship based on values. Throughout the process, each person will be encouraged to take small, committed actions to slowly create a more connected a space for one another.
